ATV SEARCH AND RESCUE...

ATV riding is becoming one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the United States.  And as the number of ATV riders grow, so will the number of accidents.  This presents a special challenge to all emergency responders.  Due to the mobility that the ATV provides, the search area for locating victims will often be extremely large, and injured subjects may require transport from areas hard to reach with conventional rescue vehicles. This requires tactics and equipment not normally utilized by most fire departments or rescue squads.  It also requires us to train our personnel to ride and utilize ATVs to perform certain types of rescues.
